Core Faculty - Internal Medicine

Houston Methodist The Woodlands is seeking a board-certified Internal Medicine physician to join their team as Core Faculty for the Internal Medicine residency program. This clinical faculty position emphasizes academic responsibilities, including resident supervision and program development. Responsibilities

• Serve as attending/faculty physicians in the residency continuity clinic supervising residents
• Provide direct patient care for patients
• Assist in developing, directing, and managing the Internal Medicine residency program
• Administer and maintain an educational environment conducive to educating residents in each of the ACGME competency areas
• Regularly participate in organized clinical discussions, rounds, including journal clubs and conferences
• Serve as role models and mentors for the residents
• Participate in scholarly activity and quality improvement projects with the residents

• Work Shift: 1 - Day

Requirements

• Board-certified in Internal Medicine
• Eligibility for unrestricted medical licensure in the state of Texas
• Proficiency in teaching and precepting residents (ideal candidate)
• Minimum of three years of experience in graduate medical education (ideal candidate)
• Skills in research or quality improvement focused in ambulatory care & hospital settings (ideal candidate)
• Demonstrated leadership in GME, including residency program administration, curriculum development, and resident mentorship (ideal candidate)
• Strong track record in teaching within an ambulatory care setting (ideal candidate)
• Passion for shaping the culture and growth of a residency program (ideal candidate)
