This role will lead and coordinate the operations team, including quality, and pellet transportation.

The coordinator will work closely with the maintenance, engineering, and health & safety teams to support plant performance and meet production targets.Job ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Manager – Pellet Plant, the Coordinator – Pellet Plant Operations will be responsible for the following:Pre Commissioning:Assist with management of contractors during pellet plant construction, ensuring work is executed safely, on time, and according to project specificationsPost Commissioning:Supervise and coordinate maintenance personnel in daily preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance tasks within the pellet plantEnsure timely execution of maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and maintain production continuityDevelop and manage budgets for areas of responsibilityMonitor equipment performance and reliability; initiate actions for repairs, replacements, or improvements as requiredCollaborate with the maintenance team to align maintenance priorities with production demandsDevelop and implement operating procedures and best practices in line with company policies and safety standardsMaintain records of operating activities, equipment history, and spare parts inventorySchedule and coordinate pellet transportation through rail to storage facilities and customersLiaise with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance work, inspections, and auditsEnsure compliance with all regulatory, environmental, and occupational health and safety requirements.Foster a culture of continuous improvement and proactive maintenance among team membersSkills and Qualifications5+ years of relevant maintenance experience in heavy industry (pellet plant experience preferred)Proven experience leading operations teams and managing work orders and schedulesStrong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to effectively train and mentor employeesExcellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsComfortable with a fast-paced environmentEducationHigh school diploma or GEDBachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field preferredPhysical RequirementsThis position requires some work in front of a PC, desk, and phone and regular field work.Some lifting and strength required when working in plant.Salary$115,000 - $135,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.BenefitsHealth Insurance : Comprehensive medical and dental coverage with an HSA option.Retirement Plan : 401(k) with 6% company match.Lincoln STD, LTD, & Life Insurance : Coverage provided by Mesabi Metallics.Paid Time Off (PTO) : 0-5 Years: 120 hours per year. 5-10 Years: 160 hours per year. 10+ Years: 200 hours per year.
