Communications DirectorCooke for Congress is seeking a Communications Director for the 2026 election cycle. The Communications Director will be responsible for developing and executing a clear communications and press strategy for Rebecca Cooke's campaign for US House.The position is full-time and based in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.Primary ResponsibilitiesDeveloping earned media plan/calendar and implementing campaign communications strategyResponding to incoming media requests and managing proactive pitchingBuilding and maintaining relationships with reporters across WisconsinDrafting and editing written communication materials, including social media contentCrafting remarks and guidance for political eventsProviding media training and interview prep for candidateHiring and overseeing team of communications staffProviding copy editing, approval and other support as needed for other campaign departmentsJob RequirementsA track record of working directly with local and national reportersOn-the-record experience as a spokespersonMultiple cycles of experience working in electoral politics/on campaignsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAn ability to juggle multiple tasks effectively and get results in a fast-paced environmentStrong commitment to collaboration and teamworkExperience managing staff and/or volunteers.Salary range: $6,000-$8,000 per month, dependent on experience.
