Lao Peng You is a family owned Chinese restaurant in Ukrainian Village that specializes in noodles and dumplings. We’re looking for an experienced and versatile cook to join our kitchen team for a full time position. This position will cover both large batch prep and line tasks. It will require operating at both the restaurant and offsite kitchen so open availability and reliable transportation are a must.
Our priorities are maintaining high quality work ethic and food while cultivating a healthy, sustainable, and inclusive work environment. We believe in investing in our team members.
We’re looking for someone with
- 3+ experience in high volume kitchens
- proficient with both line cooking and large batch prep
- well versed with various line and prep equipment
- stamina for working in a small hot kitchens
- strong multitasking skills
- consistent cleanliness and organization skills

- eagerness to grow, learn and share
- strong observation and communication skills
- compulsion to address and/or correct problems
- strong awareness of their surroundings

- interest and/or experience in Chinese cuisine preferred
- little to no food allergies preferred. (we work with a lot of common food allergies)
