COO Candidate (Head of U.S. Business)

Summary

Under the vision of "Introducing authentic Japanese culinary culture to the world," our company has established its presence in the U.S. through an online shop. We are now expanding our global footprint by establishing physical retail stores in the U.S. as brand flagships. We are seeking a Head of U.S. Business / COO candidate to lead our business expansion and overall management in the United States. In this role, you will be responsible for formulating and executing U.S. business strategies, managing E-commerce growth, opening and operating retail stores, overseeing P&L, and driving overall business growth.

Essential Duties

• Formulate and execute business strategies for the U.S. market in close collaboration with the international business division in Japan (market research, brand planning support, and sales strategy).
• Manage and expand the E-commerce business, including promotional activities and website operations alongside operational staff.
• Lead the entire retail expansion process, from site selection and store setup to daily operations.
• Develop, execute, and monitor business plans, managing P&L to ensure sustainable growth.
• Identify operational/management challenges and propose/implement effective solutions.
• Manage group/overseas business meetings, coordinate inter-departmental efforts as the main point of contact for U.S. operations, and oversee general administrative functions.

Note: Initial training period of a few months in Fukuoka, Japan prior to U.S. placement

Salary, Benefit

• $150,000 – $200,000

Benefits:

• Health insurance (Medical / Dental / Vision) available after 90 days of employment (Employer covers 80% of employee premium and 70% of dependent premium)

Qualifications

• Experience in formulating and executing business strategies in international markets.
• Proven track record of developing, executing, and managing business plans for overseas subsidiaries, including hands‑on problem solving.
• Experience in E-commerce business management is highly preferred.
• Strong business management skills, including P&L oversight, progress management, and business intelligence/analysis.
• Proven leadership and management ability to lead a team toward goal achievement.
• Proficient English communication skills to smoothly run local operations.
