This state-of-the-art extrusion and polymer manufacturing facility relies on strong controls and operational technology support to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations.The Controls Technician supports the maintenance, troubleshooting, installation, and optimization of industrial control systems across the Buffalo facility.
This role works closely with Controls Engineers, Electricians, and Maintenance teams to ensure PLC, SCADA, HMI, and related systems operate safely and reliably in support of production.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform routine maintenance on control systems and operational technology to ensure optimal performanceAssist in diagnosing and resolving issues with PLCs, SCADA systems, HMIs, sensors, and related equipmentConduct system tests and inspections to identify potential issues and implement corrective actionsPartner with electricians and maintenance technicians to troubleshoot electrical and electronic issuesAssist with installation and configuration of operational technology hardware and softwareFollow technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and blueprints to ensure accurate system integrationDevelop, evaluate, and update electrical preventive maintenance (PM) proceduresMaintain accurate records of installations, maintenance activities, and system repairsAssist in preparing technical reports on system performance, issues, and resolutionsUpdate system documentation and manuals as requiredFollow all safety procedures and ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulationsPerform other duties as assignedQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required; additional technical education or training preferredSpecialized training in PLCs or equivalent hands-on work experienceMinimum of 2 years of hands-on maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing environmentUnderstanding of industrial control systems and operational technologyExperience with Allen-Bradley PLCs and Ignition systems preferredAbility to read and interpret repair manuals, wiring diagrams, schematics, and machine documentationWorking knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systemsAbility to use precision measuring instruments and interpret data accuratelyStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skillsGood communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a teamAbility to lift moderate weights and work in a physically demanding environmentMust be at least 18 years of ageCompensation & Benefit Information Salary Pay Range: $34.00-$40.00 per hour dependent on experience* *pay range may be adjusted depending on cost of livingA discretionary annual bonus based on Company and business unit performance may also be provided.Benefits currently offered to our employees:Medical insuranceHealth savings account with company contributionDental insuranceVision insuranceBasic and voluntary life insuranceDisability insurance401(k) plan with company matchPaid vacation and holidaysStock purchase program with employee discountEducational reimbursementWellness programs and challengesOther supplemental benefitsThe Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
