Controls TechnicianThis position provides support for the reliability of all automation and control systems throughout the facility. Works closely with all plant personnel to perform tests, diagnostics, repairs, improvements and upgrades to all equipment, instrumentation, process and procedures.Responsibilities:Drive a zero EHS incident culture, support and participate in incident investigations to determine root cause and identify preventive actions, correct unsafe conditions and acts immediately, and use every incident or near miss as a teaching moment for othersMonitor, adjust, calibrate and repair manufacturing equipment, instruments, fixtures, etc.Conduct in-depth PLC, HMI, motor drive troubleshooting and provide effective solutions – Allen Bradley required with at least one other manufacturer (i.e. Mitsubishi, Schneider, GE, Opto, etc.)Read and modify PLC ladder diagramsPerform electrical and electronic installations and modifications including drives and programming controllersWorking knowledge of AC vector drive and servo drive technology.Understand in-depth electric circuitry, electronics and electromechanical concepts - AC and DC, Sinking / sourcingBasic understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanical conceptsBasic understanding of PC componentsInterpret all levels of drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, specifications, etc.
Knowledge of CAD system (i.e. AutoCad, Vizio, etc.)Sustain an understanding of the latest state-of-the-art automation and control techniquesUtilize problem solving techniques including PDCA to solve problems to root cause, implement actions that prevent reoccurrence, improve operations, etc.Supply higher level technical assistance to plant shift electrician teamProvide training to all levels of the organizationAbility to supervise contractors to minimize scheduled and unscheduled downtimesMaintain and manage the engineering department technical procedures, manuals and drawings, including records of as-built equipment and process changesOccasional need to work flexible hours. May include weekend and/or holiday work, subject to call-insQualifications:High school graduate or equivalent requiredApprenticeship or equivalent training requiredAssociate's degree in maintenance or industrial technology preferredMinimum five years of industrial maintenance experience with extensive automation and controls workProficient in computer applications including Microsoft applications, Outlook, SAP, etc.Working knowledge OSHA Electrical Standards, National Electric Code (NEC)Strong troubleshooting skills and logic to solve problems to root causeProactive and self-motivated to work effectively with minimal supervisionGood written and verbal communication skillsAbility to make decisions under time constraints and tight deadlinesAble to interact with other associates in a team-oriented environmentStarting Pay Range: $41.00-$49.00 per hourAvailable Shift: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm Monday - Friday.
