Background requires general knowledge of the electrical trade; in general, the position requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.More specifically, the experience should include substantial work on various control systems. This should include experience in understanding, troubleshooting, & repairing power supplies, sensors, internal control components, variable frequency drives, motor control centers, and building control systems & networks.Principal Job Duties:Maintenance, replacement, or repair any of a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment;Working from schematics, blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specificationsLocating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system, mechanical control systems or equipmentWorking standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment,Using a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments.Comply with all key work processes required by the company (and customer) and documents any deficiencies while overseeing customer systems to ensure no impact to their daily missionParticipate in job specific training, presentations, modules, qualification tests require to perform work and qualify for job skills and corporate policies & proceduresPerform various switching/isolation procedures to mitigate any unexpected operational issues or to prepare systems for maintenance activities by vendors or in-house O&M personnelProvide timely assistance to plant operators and/or other O&M personnel when requiredMaintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standardsPlan, organize, and carry out assignments as directed; tasks range from effective use of building controls systems, discussion of system operations with Building Operators, preventative maintenance tasks to organization of a maintenance switching event for major equipment shutdown/isolation all to prevent impact to customer's missionPosition consists of a standard day-time work week coverage, Mon – Fri; flexible schedule is possible.
Position requires on-call availability for after-hours emergencies at the 24/7 facility; primary response is performed by the Operations division, but this position might be required to report to assist.Other duties as assignedBasic Job RequirementsExperience working in commercial/industrial environments:Minimum of a basic background in electrical equipment & distribution systems (120V to 480V); this should include proper training & use of PPE equipment for the systems being worked on (i.e. able to determine appropriate flame- and/or arc-resistant protection) and a journeyman's electrician license.Basic expectations for electrical support will involve working with site electrician's when needed; providing backup support for switching operations (utilizing PPE), changing of lamps/ballasts in lights, etc.Minimum of five (5) years' experience working with electrical systemsJob related technical knowledge necessary to work around commercial power & cooling systems; this should include knowledge of electrical systems such as panelboards, switchboards, generators, UPS systems, DC voltage systems, fire alarm systems, etc.; mechanical systems such as commercial closed-loop chilled water systems, pumps, boilers, air-handling units, fan coil units, etc.Job related technical knowledge pertaining directly to control systems such as PLC-based controllers, PLC control cabinets, relays, low voltage control systems (48V, 24V, 4-10ma, etc.), Alerton controllers (or similar), BMS components, etc.Minimum of five (5) years' experience working with controls systemsAbility to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to customer, management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitorsAlready holds USG clearanceMust be able to perform standard maintenance/inspection tasksTasks will include physical labor; examples include working on ladders, ability to carry minimum 50lbs, retrieving stock items from warehouse via inventory database, use of PPE equipment for switching procedures, ability to obtain forklift/manlift operator's license, etc.Working conditions include various levels of environmental conditions including but not limited to generally favorable indoor office workspace, moving mechanical parts and vibration; high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles and extreme temperatures and high noise levels.Other Job RequirementsActive TS/SCI clearance requiredValid driver's licensePreferred QualificationsMinimum of ten (10) years of experience in electrical field with a focus on controls experience; with positions supporting plant maintenance, preferably in a data processing facilityMaster's electrician license; preferred to have some experience in 13.2kV switches and switchgearMust have proficient computer skills; direct experience in operating plant control systems preferredMust have excellent verbal and written English communications skillsStrong interpersonal and mentoring skills and organizational accountability processesGood multi-tasking skills
