Embedded Software EngineerEmbedded Software Engineer Location: Fredericksburg, VA Job Type: Full-Time Pay: $100,000 - $120,000Position OverviewM Force Partners is seeking a skilled Embedded Software Engineer to support control systems development and embedded software engineering for robotic and electromechanical systems. This Embedded Software Engineer role will participate in the full software development lifecycle including architecture definition, requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and documentation.The ideal Embedded Software Engineer will have experience working with robotics systems, real-time embedded software, and cross-disciplinary debugging across mechanical, electrical, and control systems. This individual will work within a collaborative engineering environment while independently managing projects of moderate complexity.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop software using C, C++, and Python for embedded systems and control applicationsDesign and implement control algorithms for robotic and electromechanical systemsDevelop device drivers and board support packages for embedded platformsPerform real-time programming and debugging in Linux environmentsUtilize ROS (Robot Operating System) for robotics developmentWork with version control systems such as Git and GitHubImplement and support communication protocols including RS232, RS422, RS485, CAN, and TCP/IPSupport system testing, debugging, and integration using tools such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzersInterface with motors, sensors, and other hardware componentsSupport cross-functional engineering teams during development and integration activitiesLead or support embedded software development projects of moderate complexityMaintain documentation for software architecture, development, and testingSupport additional engineering projects and initiatives as neededRequired QualificationsBachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D.
