Controls EngineerOur client is seeking a controls engineer that supports the controls engineering team for a variety of projects from the concept phase through detail design, manufacturing, and commissioning. They are proficient in reading, modifying existing, and creating new electrical CAD drawings and schematics. As a preference they also can read and create fluids drawings and schematics.
They support the engineering team in interpreting specifications and selecting components to meet performance requirements. They can take small portions of a larger project and work independently to deliver within time and budget. They help create and manage the BOM but do not make releases.
They can assist in checking drawing packages but do not release drawings.RolesCoordinate with other departments such as Project Management, Manufacturing, and Purchasing to ensure proper components are purchased and assembled to meet the project timeline and budget.Communicate with customers to determine design requirements and specifications for a project and participate in regular design reviews to ensure those requirements are being met.Author hardware and system documentation including specifications, schematics, DAQ definition, BOMs, sequence of operationsDevelop custom hardware solutions in both team and lone environmentsIdentify hardware tools and techniques that will benefit the projectResearch and identify potential system componentsConduct projects with a high level of professionalism while meeting and/or exceeding our clients' technical and timing expectationsWork within the predefined project budget and timing requirements.Produce a final deliverable drawing package made to customer specifications and industry standardsTroubleshoot and fix design and manufacturing issues with the Project Manager and Manufacturing Team.Be able to back up engineering decisions using data and engineering analysis.Qualifications/Skills:Bachelor's degree in EE or CE (or equivalent experience)1+ years of hardware design experience3+ years preferredExperience designing analog and digital I/O circuitryDebugging skills including utilization of logic analyzers, DMMs, oscilloscopes, etc.AutoCAD Electrical experienceKnowledge of LISP a bonusMicrosoft Excel advanced user: xLOOKUP, conditional formatting, charts, data validation, …Knowledge of NEC (specifically chapter 2, 3 & 7), NFPA 79 & UL 508AWire gauges & fuse/circuit breaker sizingGrounding & bondingExperience collaborating with customers, engineers, and technical project managers to develop mechanical requirements, schedules, and budgetsMotivated, with ability to work with minimal guidanceCapable of managing multiple projects and delegating tasksPay rate open $ /hr. depending on Exp.
