Description

Responsible for the design, implementation, testing and customer-sitecommissioning of controls equipment, machinery, software and automationsystems working in a project team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develops control and automation system designs bystudying project concepts, objectives and requirements while evaluatingproducts, technologies, and systems to meet project and customerspecifications.

  • Develops automation design plans byresearching, analyzing, selecting and applying engineering concepts,control systems, robotics, PLCs, and other automation equipment.
  • Designsand implements software for PLCs (Programable Logic Controllers),Robots, HMIs (Human Machine Interface) and other automation equipmentbased on project scope and requirements.
  • Implements automation systems designs by providing installation, start-up/commissioning, and technical support.
  • Verifiesand validates system design performance by establishing and executingsystem test standards. Building and testing simulations and models whileconducting compatibility evaluations and analyzing data to identify andresolve performance problems.
  • Documents engineeringdesign by recording design features, functions operational requirementsalong with detailing safety and support requirements and operatingprocedures.
  • Provides updates to project manager pertaining to status of activities, performance to schedule and to budget.
  • Continual learning by tracking and understanding emerging technologies and practices.
  • Participate in proposal development activities.

Interpersonal

  • Serve as the primary technical interface with internal team and customer for assigned projects.

  • Supports an environment conducive to successful team interaction and customer satisfaction.
  • Obtains product and system technical information and keeps up-to-date with current and new technologies.

Business

  • Builds relationships at the technical and professional level with I-C Automation’s customers and vendors.

  • Execute and lead technical execution of projects.
  • Provide support for proposal efforts or customer presentations.
  • Responsiblefor meeting project schedules, engineering hour budgets and customersatisfaction targets for own activities in support of the project team.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering discipline.

  • At least two years of experience in controls engineering related to automation systems.
  • Experience conducting system installation and commissioning activities.
