Our award-winning client is seeking a Controls Engineer to join their team. A growing industrial solutions provider in Noblesville, Indiana, is seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to design, develop, and program control systems for fluid recovery and industrial processes.
This role requires expertise in Allen-Bradley PLC and HMI programming, control panel design, and system startup support. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of industrial automation principles and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
- Design and program PLC, HMI, and control systems using Allen-Bradley hardware (MicroLogix, CompactLogix, ControlLogix) and software (RSLogix 500/5000, FactoryTalk).
- Develop and interpret logic diagrams, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and control narratives.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including PLC modules and HMIs.
- Provide on-site system startup support, troubleshoot field issues, and offer technical guidance to operators.
- Manage control panel design, conduct equipment inspections, and update AutoCAD drawings.
- Collaborate with project managers, technicians, and vendors to ensure seamless system integration.
- Maintain programming standards, remote access systems, and documentation.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university preferred.
- 5+ years of experience programming Allen-Bradley PLCs and HMIs (CompactLogix, MicroLogix, PanelView).
- Experience in control panel design and FactoryTalk programming.
- Proficiency in ladder logic, structured text, and VB scripting.
- Ability to interpret electrical diagrams, P&IDs, and control narratives.
- Familiarity with mechanical, plumbing, and electrical troubleshooting.
- Experience with mathematical modeling and DCS system integration.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
