MAU is hiring a Senior Controls Engineer for our client Bosch in Charleston, SC. As a Senior Controls Engineer, you will design, program, implement, and commission complex industrial control systems with a strong focus on CoDeSys-based PLC automation in a manufacturing environment. This is a direct-hire opportunity.

Shift Information
• 1st shift: Monday - Friday
Required Education and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering field
• 7+ years of progressive experience in industrial controls design, programming, and commissioning
• 3+ years of hands-on CoDeSys programming experience
General Requirements
• Strong expertise in IEC 61131-3 programming languages such as ST, FBD, LD, and SFC
• Experience with industrial networking protocols including EtherCAT, PROFINET, Modbus TCP/IP, CANopen, and Ethernet/IP
• HMI/SCADA development and integration experience
• Knowledge of electrical control panel design principles and safety standards
• Experience with industrial safety systems
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar CAD software
• Ability to read complex electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, OEE, cycle time, and throughput
• Proven leadership, troubleshooting, communication, and mentoring skills
Essential Functions
• Lead the design and specification of complex control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, drives, sensors, actuators, and network architecture
• Develop control strategies, safety interlocks, and operational sequences for manufacturing processes
• Program, test, and debug PLC logic using CoDeSys
• Build reusable libraries, function blocks, and structured text routines
• Integrate fieldbus protocols within the CoDeSys environment
• Develop and support HMI/SCADA applications for operator usability and process visibility
• Lead on-site commissioning, testing, tuning, and startup activities
• Troubleshoot advanced hardware and software issues in live manufacturing environments
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to resolve integration challenges
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including specifications, test plans, and as-built drawings
• Ensure compliance with applicable industry and safety standards
• Lead technical project activities, including scope, scheduling, and resource planning
• Mentor junior controls engineers
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, standardization, and cost reduction
