Job TitleEssential Job FunctionsSupport production by troubleshooting and programming existing and new plant automation equipmentProgram and design new and existing PLC controlsTravel to sister plants as needed for completion of core job functionsMaintain accurate and consistent schedules for projects and tasks for multiple plant projectsProgramming of robots and touching up points as needed to support production needsWorking with production and process to optimize line flow, cycle time issues and quality concerns through changes in programming or troubleshooting of controlsHelp plan preventative maintenance plans for equipment in the plant both new and currentWork to help develop new technology for the plant to utilize in efforts to improve cycle times and quality detection / prevention systemsHelp train plant techs and engineers on controls related skillsCreate and correct plant electrical drawings for equipmentWork with plant teams to help develop accurate quoting modelsRequirementsEducation: BSEE or BSME Degree requiredYears of Experience: 3 – 5 Years of experience programming and troubleshooting PLCs and Robots1-3 Years of Siemens S7 programming experience a plusRegular and predictable attendance requiredHigh level of understanding of Fanuc Robots and ABB robot operationsDemonstrated understanding of Ethernet cabling and addressing, Device Net, RIO, and wireless PC networkingUnderstanding of basic concepts of MMIs, familiar with PanelView Plus and PanelView hardwareDemonstrated understanding of Cognex In-Sight softwareDemonstrated knowledge of ladder logic programming, PLC 5, SLC500, ControlLogix, MicroLogix, RIO, Ethernet I/P, DeviceNetDemonstrated understanding of AC and DC motors and servo systemsWorking knowledge of Kinetix, Ultra3000, PowerFlex, 1305 and 1338 drivesValid driver's license required for business travelWork beyond the traditional 40 hours per week may be required as workload or projects dictate, including, nights, weekends and holidaysKey CompetenciesAdvanced/Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, and PowerPointExcellent Analytical SkillsAbility to use RS Net Worx software, RS View Studio and Panel Builder softwareAbility to perform electrical troubleshooting and read electrical printsAbility to wire industrial control systems including 480V/120V/24V power, drives, motors, I/O and sensorsAbility to design, diagnose, and troubleshoot vision applicationsAbility to connect to PLC and navigate programming softwareHands-on approach to problem solving and analysisAbility and willingness to uphold the Carlex Values of Safety, Customer Focused, Teamwork, Excellence and TrustQualificationsEducationBachelors or better in Electrical Engineering or related field.Bachelors or better in Mechanical Engineering or related field.ExperienceRequired: 3-5 years: Experience programming and troubleshooting PLCs and RobotsPreferred: 1-3 years: Siemens S7 programming experience a plusEqual Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
