This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge prototype vehicle programs involving vehicle electrification, autonomous systems, and advanced mobility technologies.The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex engineering challenges and has experience developing control algorithms, integrating electronic systems, and validating software through simulation and real-world testing.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement control algorithms for advanced vehicle systemsDesign controls architecture and system functionality using MATLAB/SimulinkModel, simulate, and validate control systemsPerform bench testing, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and vehicle testingIntegrate and commission prototype control systems on development vehiclesAnalyze test data and optimize system performanceDevelop and correlate simulation models with vehicle test resultsSupport hardware selection and integration for electronic control systemsDefine controller I/O, wiring, and connector requirementsCollaborate with cross-functional engineering teams throughout product developmentParticipate in customer discussions and technical reviews as neededRequired QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or a related engineering disciplineMinimum 3 years of controls engineering experienceExperience developing and deploying control algorithms on real-world systemsStrong Model-Based Design experience using MATLAB/SimulinkExperience conducting system testing and analyzing test dataStrong technical communication and problem-solving skillsPreferred ExperienceExperience with one or more of the following is highly desirable:MATLABSimulinkStateflowEmbedded software developmentMotoHawk, Raptor, OpenECU, or dSPACECAN communication and Vector tools (CANalyzer, CANape)Vehicle simulation software (CarSim, TruckSim, ADAMS, Dymola)Data acquisition systemsEmbedded C programmingElectric and hybrid vehicle systemsAutonomous or by-wire vehicle controlsCAN, LIN, Ethernet, and wireless communication protocolsHydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, or mechanical system modelingAutomotive, defense, robotics, or motorsports engineeringAdditional InformationDirect hire opportunityOnsite position in New Hudson, MichiganApproximately 10% travel, primarily within the Great Lakes regionMust be eligible to work in an ITAR-controlled environment.
