We specialize in custom high-vacuum process equipment for applications including space simulation testing, thin-film coatings, and other precision processes. Our systems combine advanced technologies in pressure vessel design, material handling, automation, and integrated control systems.Position OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to join our Engineering team. The ideal candidate leads the design, development, and implementation of control systems for advanced manufacturing equipment, including thin film deposition, thermal vacuum, and custom vacuum systems.Essential Job FunctionsDevelop process functional design specifications that detail control strategy and sequence of operationsLead controls engineering efforts across full project lifecycle, including design, programming, testing, and commissioningDocument controls engineering design including functionality, operational requirements, safety considerations, and operating proceduresPerform system integration including I/O checkout, system validation, and performance testingMaintain and organize software backups from systems either in production or at customer facilitiesPerform Acceptance Testing (FAT/SAT) with customers to meet their expectations.Perform on-site upgrades to existing systems at customer facilitiesGenerate redline documentation and implement corrective action for system issues and design improvements.Support customer problems remotely (diagnostics and upgrade implementation)Travel domestically and internationally as requiredCompetenciesEffective problem-solvingAbility to communicate technical concepts to customers and cross-functional teamsExcellent time management and productivity in a dynamic environment.Experience, Education & Skills3-7 years of hands-on experience in controls engineering or industrial automationStrong experience with PLC programming, HMI/SCADA development, and system integrationExperience working with industrial equipment, sensors, instrumentation and data acquisition systemsProven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex control system issues in field environmentsExperience supporting Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) with customersSupervisory Responsibility:NoneWorking Conditions/Physical Demands:Standard office environment with occasional travel to customer sites for evaluationsCompensation & BenefitsSalary range: $85,900 to $110,700, based on experienceExcellent benefits, including comprehensive health coverage, retirement plan, paid time off, and moreOpportunities to work on innovative, custom-engineered equipment used by leading aerospace and technology organizationsCollaborative culture with a focus on professional growth and technical excellenceThis role is split between office-based engineering work and hands-on activities in a manufacturing environment (approximately 50% office / 50% production floor).
