Controls Engineer

Job OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Controls Engineer with deep expertise in legacy Siemens S7-300 PLCs and SIMATIC STEP 7 (Classic) software to support an automation project for a customer local to our office in Greer, SC.This role focuses on troubleshooting, modifying, and supporting established Siemens automation equipment on-site.Key ResponsibilitiesDiagnose, modify, and optimize PLC logic on legacy Siemens S7-300 hardware using SIMATIC STEP 7 (v5.x).Troubleshoot automated machine sequences, I/O faults, and communication networks (PROFIBUS / PROFINET).Support on-site floor modifications, process improvements, and line recoveries directly with the customer.Read and interpret electrical schematics to resolve hardware and wiring-related control issues.Required QualificationsSiemens S7-300 Expertise: Proven hands-on programming and troubleshooting experience with Siemens S7-300 series controllers and legacy STEP 7 software.Industrial Communications: Solid understanding of PROFIBUS-DP and PROFINET industrial fieldbus protocols.On-Site Troubleshooting: Strong ability to diagnose automated machinery downtime independently and execute real-time logic changes.Location: Must be local to or within daily commuting distance of Greer, SC (no travel/per diem available).You should be proficient in:PLC Troubleshooting SkillsTroubleshooting SkillsTroubleshooting Industrial Automation EquipmentPLC Programming ExperienceElectrical / Electronic SystemsField Service ReadinessIndustrial Electrical SystemsMachines & technologies you'll use:Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) (Siemens)
