Controller

Cherry Bekaert Recruiting is seeking a Controller for our non-profit client to oversee financial reporting and day-to-day accounting operations. This is a hands‑on leadership role responsible for managing the month-end close and overseeing AP, AR, fixed assets, revenue recognition, and inventory accounting.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
• Lead the month-end and year-end close.
• Oversee AP, AR, fixed assets, revenue recognition, and inventory.
• Support budgeting and forecasting.
• Perform budget-to-actual and variance analysis.
• Manage cash and monitor cash flow.
• Provide schedules and financial information for external audits.
• Maintain appropriate accounting controls and processes.
• Supervise and develop accounting staff.

Requirements

• Active CPA required.
• Nonprofit industry accounting experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Strong GAAP and financial reporting knowledge.
• Previous Controller or comparable accounting leadership experience.
• Supervisory experience required.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and audit support.
• Strong month‑end close and operational accounting experience.
