Controller

We're seeking a hands-on Controller to lead our accounting function, manage financial reporting, protect profitability, and support continued growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities.
• Experience with construction, landscaping, specialty contracting, or project-based accounting.
• Strong knowledge of job costing, WIP schedules, and GAAP financial reporting.
• Experience with payroll, commissions, and cash management.
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with QuickBooks Online.
• Proven ability to develop processes, implement controls, and lead a team.

Preferred

• CPA, CMA, or similar certification.
• Experience supporting a $20M-$75M organizationin residential services, specialty contracting, roofing, solar, turf, or a related field.
• Multi-location or multi-market accounting experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly financial close and prepare accurate GAAP financial statements.
• Manage job costing, WIP reporting, budgeting, and profitability analysis.
• Oversee cash flow, billing, collections, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Ensure payroll, installer pay, and sales commissions are processed accurately and on time.
• Maintain internal controls and accounting procedures to safeguard company assets.
• Partner with operations and sales teams to improve margins and financial performance.
• Coordinate tax filings, 1099 reporting, and compliance activities.
• Lead and develop the accounting team while improving processes and system efficiency.
• Starting salary of $120,000 - 150,000+ based on experience
