Our client, an established General Contractor in the Bay Area, is seeking a Controller to join their team.
Base pay range
$170,000.00/yr - $200,000.00/yr
Responsibilities
- Oversees the operations of the Accounting Department, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll.
- Review and approve monthly bank statements, ensuring compliance with bank covenants.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Prepare and oversee month‑end close procedures.
- Monitor project expenditures and compare actual costs against budgeted amounts.
- Review and approve invoices, purchase orders, and change orders for accuracy and adherence to budget.
- Oversee and manage the payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Collaborate with external payroll service providers and internal stakeholders to streamline processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
- Experience in a construction or similar business.
- Proficiency in using technology for financial optimization.
- Strong understanding of payroll processes and compliance requirements.
- Experience with Sage software a plus.
