Compensation: $130,000 - $155,000 + 10-20% bonus
Location: Hybrid | North County San Diego, 3 days onsite
Overview: Growing global public company seeking an Assistant Controller to lead day-to-day accounting operations, oversee month-end close, drive process improvements, and mentor a high-performing accounting team. This is a highly visible leadership opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys building scalable processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
- Oversee general ledger, reconciliations, and financial reporting processes
- Manage and develop accounting staff
- Drive automation, process improvement, and operational efficiency initiatives
- Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, and business leaders
- Support audits, internal controls, and compliance initiatives
Minimum Qualifications:
- 9 -15 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong GL accounting and month-end close expertise
- Experience leading or mentoring an accounting team
- Knowledge of SOX, audit, and internal controls
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA preferred
- Public company experience
- Manufacturing and/or SaaS experience
- Multi-entity accounting background
- ERP system experience
