About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Controller to lead the accounting and financial operations of a growing organization. This role will oversee accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, audits, treasury functions, and compliance while serving as a strategic partner to executive leadership.
The Controller will play a critical role in driving financial performance, ensuring reporting accuracy, strengthening internal controls, and supporting the organization's continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all accounting and financial operations activities.
- Manage financial reporting and support relationships with the parent organization.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, including:
- Income Statement
- Balance Sheet
- Cash Flow Statement
- Develop and present monthly financial and operational performance reporting.
- Analyze results against budget, forecasts, and prior-period performance.
- Lead the annual budgeting and planning process.
- Coordinate annual financial audits, retirement plan audits, and tax compliance activities.
- Oversee accounts receivable operations and collections efforts.
- Manage accounts payable activities and vendor payment processes.
- Review reconciliations and ensure timely month-end close execution.
- Oversee payroll activities in partnership with an external payroll provider.
- Manage treasury, cash flow, and related reporting requirements.
- Maintain banking relationships and support compliance reporting.
- Strengthen internal controls and accounting procedures.
- Support ERP and systems enhancement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS and applicable financial reporting requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Progressive accounting leadership experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Accounting Manager.
- Strong working knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting.
- Experience leading month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and audit processes.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and treasury functions.
- Experience supporting ERP implementations or financial system improvements is highly preferred.
- Proven leadership abilities with strong communication and team development skills.
- Ability to partner effectively with executive leadership and provide strategic financial insight.
