Controller (North Charleston)

Great Controller opportunity with a private equity-backed company in Charleston, SC!

We are looking for a Controller to lead the accounting function and help build the financial infrastructure needed to support continued growth.

This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing accounting operations in a high-volume transactional environment. The ideal candidate enjoys improving processes, solving problems, and operating in a business that is evolving and scaling rather than maintaining a steady-state environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & FUNCTIONS:

• Lead day-to-day accounting operations, including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash reconciliations, and month-end close
• Manage and develop a team supporting accounting, billing, procurement, and related functions
• Oversee financial reporting, internal controls, and multi-entity accounting activities
• Support process improvements, system enhancements, and future ERP initiatives
• Partner with leadership to improve visibility into financial and operational performance
• Drive efficiencies across accounting workflows and business processes

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Experience leading accounting operations in a high-volume transactional environment
• Strong understanding of month-end close, financial reporting, and internal controls
• Prior leadership experience managing accounting staff
• ERP experience required; NetSuite experience is a plus
• CPA preferred
