A well-established Nonprofit Organization in Newark, NJ is seeking a Controller to oversee day-to-day accounting operations and help drive financial excellence across the organization. This is a full time opportunity with excellent benefits.
Responsibilities:
? Oversee all general accounting functions, including General Ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting
? Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes
? Ensure compliance with nonprofit grant accounting
? Prepare financial statements, budget analysis, and reporting packages
? Support annual audits and regulatory filings
? Maintain internal controls and improve accounting processes
? Partner with leadership on financial planning and operational decisions
Qualifications:
? Prior nonprofit accounting experience required
? Strong knowledge of General Ledger, AP, AR, and financial reporting
? Experience managing the month-end and year-end close process
? Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred
? Strong communication and leadership skills
