A well-established Nonprofit Organization in Newark, NJ is seeking a Controller to oversee day-to-day accounting operations and help drive financial excellence across the organization. This is a full time opportunity with excellent benefits.
Responsibilities:
Oversee all general accounting functions, including General Ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting
Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes
Ensure compliance with nonprofit grant accounting
Prepare financial statements, budget analysis, and reporting packages
Support annual audits and regulatory filings
Maintain internal controls and improve accounting processes
Partner with leadership on financial planning and operational decisions
Qualifications:
Prior nonprofit accounting experience required
Strong knowledge of General Ledger, AP, AR, and financial reporting
Experience managing the month-end and year-end close xhqgsiq process
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred
Strong communication and leadership skills
