VP, Corporate Accounting | NYC | $200K-$225K Base

A well-established, privately held real estate investment, development, and management platform is seeking a VP, Corporate Accounting to lead corporate accounting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and financial reporting across a diverse group of corporate entities.

This is a highly visible leadership role reporting into senior finance leadership and overseeing the accounting operations that support multiple businesses, including management and development companies and affiliated entities. The position offers broad exposure to corporate strategy, liquidity management, operational performance, and technology initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead corporate accounting and financial reporting activities for a portfolio of corporate entities.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accurate GAAP-compliant reporting.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, profitability analysis, and performance reporting across business lines.
• Monitor liquidity, cash flows, fund transfers, and capital needs while providing forward-looking cash analysis.
• Oversee AP, AR, payroll allocations, intercompany accounting, and related operational activities.
• Lead annual audits and coordinate with external tax and audit providers.
• Manage, mentor, and develop a small accounting team within a larger finance organization.
• Drive process improvements, technology enhancements, and AI/automation initiatives across accounting workflows.
• Partner with senior leadership on strategic initiatives and special projects.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• 5-15+ years of accounting experience with a strong progression into Controllership or Corporate Accounting leadership roles
• Experience within a privately held company (approximately 200-1,000 employees) overseeing core corporate finance functions
• Proven leadership across corporate accounting, financial reporting, AP, AR, payroll, cash management, budgeting, and forecasting
• CPA highly preferred
• Industry background is flexible; real estate, family office, professional services, financial services, or other privately owned environments are all of interest
• Strong managerial experience with responsibility for team leadership, process improvements, internal controls, and executive-level reporting

Compensation

• VP-level candidates: $200K-$225K base (up to $250K for an exceptional fit)
• Assistant Controller / Controller-level candidates with strong leadership experience: $150K-$175K base range considered as well.
