About the Opportunity
Connect Search is partnering with a Chicago-based investment portfolio that acquires and grows manufacturing businesses. This is an ideal next step for an Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, or Plant Controller ready to own the finance function and work directly with ownership and operators.
What You'll Do
- Own the monthly close and financial reporting for multiple small manufacturing companies
- Manage cost accounting, inventory, and ERP-based perpetual inventory processes
- Build budgets and forecasts and deliver budget-to-actual analysis
- Partner with business presidents on margins, cash, and working capital
- Oversee centralized AR/AP and payroll, and support audits and tax deliverables
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA preferred
- 5+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, including cost accounting and inventory
- Hands-on close experience; multi-entity exposure a plus
- Comfort with Sage, QuickBooks, or similar ERPs and strong Excel skills
- A self-starter who thrives in a lean, entrepreneurial setting
