Controller/Accounting Manager - Construction Business Operations - BILINGUAL IN SPANISH REQUIRED

Position Summary: Responsible for the integrity and veracity of the financial transactions of the company, preparing financial statements that are produced on time and representing accurate data.

Essential Functions:

• Assist with the preparation of financial and statistical statements and reports.
• Analyze financial information to identify discrepancies.
• Research and resolving discrepancies in a timely fashion.
• Solid knowledge of job costing accounting ( construction industry ).
• Interpret and apply accounting policies, rules, and regulations to all work in order to ensure compliance with applicable standards.
• Compile and prepare routine reports, GL postings and summaries.
• Monthly close duties include posting journal entries, accruals and reclasses, high volume account reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Supervise all cash applications and reconciliations, including bank reconciliations and intercompany transactions.
• Assist with inventory counts and evaluation, if required.
• Maintain fixed assets and assets financing schedules.
• Provide guidance and orientation to accounts receivable and accounts payable teams as needed.
• Support on external audits and review.
• Other tasks and duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

• Associate degree in accounting with at least 10 years of relevant work experience
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong problem-solving skills and work ethics
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Solid knowledge of IFRS and/or USGAAP reporting requirements, especially IFRS 15 or ASC 606 (mandatory)
• At least 5 years of experience in the construction industry and elaborating Work in Progress report and Percentage of Completion methodology.
• Advanced analytical, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Advanced spreadsheet skills are required.
• Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal - SPANISH REQUIRED
• Able to break down problems into meaningful parts and come to rational and well-thought-out conclusions.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Willing to adapt quickly to quick changes in direction.
• Internally motivated to seek out answers, generate ideas, and develop solutions
