Controller – Real Estate Investment & Asset Management

We are partnering with a growing real estate investment and asset management platform seeking a hands-on Controller to lead accounting across a complex, multi-entity portfolio.

Reporting directly to the CEO, this person will own the accounting function, strengthen financial reporting, and build processes that support continued growth. The role offers broad exposure to real estate investments, asset management, and business operations.

The ideal candidate brings strong multi-entity real estate accounting experience and enjoys an entrepreneurial environment where they can stay close to the details while improving how the accounting function operates. Yardi experience is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close across multiple entities.
• Prepare and review financial statements, supporting schedules, and management reporting.
• Manage cash flow, liquidity, and cash forecasting.
• Oversee intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and entity-level accounting.
• Coordinate tax preparation and filings with external tax advisors.
• Maintain entity-level compliance and reporting requirements.
• Support accounting for real estate acquisitions, investments, and other transactions.
• Strengthen accounting procedures, internal controls, and reporting processes.
• Identify opportunities to automate workflows and improve efficiency.
• Partner with the CEO and senior leadership to provide financial insight and support business decisions.

Ideal Background

• Hands-on accounting leadership within real estate investment, ownership, or asset management.
• Strong understanding of complex legal entity structures and intercompany accounting.
• Experience managing close, financial reporting, cash forecasting, and tax coordination.
• Proficiency with Yardi.
• Comfortable working directly with executive leadership and adapting as the business grows.
