Position Title: Corporate Controller

Location: Long Island, NY – Hybrid

Industry: Manufacturing

An established Long Island organization is seeking an experienced Corporate Controller to join its leadership team. This position is ideal for a strong accounting professional who has spent significant time within manufacturing and understands the accounting complexities that come with inventory-driven operations. The successful candidate will combine strong technical accounting knowledge with a hands-on leadership style and the ability to independently manage a broad accounting function.

Core Responsibilities

• Direct the company’s corporate accounting and financial reporting activities
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close
• Oversee general ledger activity, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
• Manage accounting related to inventory, product costs, and manufacturing variances
• Review financial results and investigate significant fluctuations
• Maintain appropriate accounting policies, procedures, and financial controls
• Oversee and develop members of the accounting team
• Coordinate annual audit requirements and supporting schedules
• Support federal, state, and other corporate tax matters
• Partner with operational and financial leadership on accounting-related matters
• Evaluate existing accounting processes and identify opportunities for greater efficiency
• Support budgeting, cash management, and other financial initiatives
• Participate in systems, reporting, and business improvement projects

Ideal Candidate

• 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
• Significant experience working within a manufacturing organization
• Strong background in cost accounting, inventory, and manufacturing variance analysis
• Prior Controller, Assistant Controller, Director of Accounting, or comparable leadership experience
• Strong command of GAAP, financial statements, general ledger, and the close process
• Experience overseeing and developing accounting professionals
• Exposure to corporate and state tax matters
• Comfortable operating independently and taking ownership of the accounting function
• Strong systems and Excel capabilities
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
• CPA strongly preferred

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary of $185,000–$200,000 plus a 20% target bonus. Comprehensive benefits package offered, including medical, dental and vision coverage, retirement benefits, paid time off, paid holidays, and additional company-sponsored benefits.
