Mabe Trucking is looking for a motivated, hands-on Controller to oversee our accounting operations and support the financial success of our trucking business.
We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and willing to be directly involved in the day-to-day accounting functions while providing accurate financial reporting and working closely with management.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
- Oversee month-end closing and prepare accurate monthly financial statements.
- Manage cash flow, budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting.
- Monitor operating expenses, fleet costs, cost per mile, and profitability.
- Analyze financial results and identify opportunities to control costs and improve margins.
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure accurate, timely accounting records.
- Oversee accounting processes and staff while remaining actively involved in daily operations.
- Work directly with management to support financial planning and business decisions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
- Previous experience in accounting management, preferably as a Controller or Assistant Controller.
- Trucking, transportation, or fleet accounting experience is a plus.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, reconciliations, budgeting, and cost analysis.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a hands-on approach to getting the job done.
