We are partnering with a well-established manufacturing company in the Durham area to identify an experienced Controller who can bring strong financial leadership, operational insight, and a hands-on approach to the business.
This is more than a traditional accounting role. The Controller will serve as a key business partner to leadership and operations, helping the organization strengthen financial processes, improve visibility into manufacturing performance, and support continued growth.
Responsibilities:
- Lead accounting operations, including month-end/year-end close and financial reporting
- Partner with plant and operational leadership on financial performance and decision-making
- Oversee cost accounting, inventory, standard costing, and manufacturing variances
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Strengthen internal controls, accounting processes, and reporting
- Identify opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency
- Support audits and GAAP compliance
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team
- Provide actionable financial insights to senior leadership
Requirements:
- 8–10+ years of Accounting & Finance experience
- Strong manufacturing industry experience
- Hands-on experience with cost accounting, inventory, and plant/manufacturing finance
- Strong GAAP and financial reporting knowledge
- ERP experience and advanced Excel skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA or CMA is a plus
