Controller

We are seeking an experienced Construction Controller to oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, and financial controls for a growing construction organization.

The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of construction accounting, job costing, work-in-progress (WIP) reporting, and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition, along with the ability to partner effectively with executive leadership and project management teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 8+ years accounting experience, construction industry required
• Strong knowledge of construction accounting, including job costing, WIP schedules, and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition.
• Thorough understanding of GAAP, financial statements, and internal controls.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with both finance and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly and year-end close, general ledger, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Lead construction accounting, including job costing, WIP schedules, percentage-of-completion accounting, and revenue recognition .
• Monitor project budgets, cost-to-complete estimates, change orders, and job profitability.
• Oversee project billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, retainage, and cash flow forecasting.
• Partner with project managers and operational leadership to identify cost overruns, margin risks, and financial trends.
• Develop budgets, forecasts, and management reports to support business decisions.
• Maintain strong internal controls, accounting policies, and compliance with GAAP. xhqgsiq
• Lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members while improving processes and reporting accuracy.
