Controller

A multimillion-dollar privately held manufacturer, part of a billion-dollar global organization, is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead its accounting operations and support business performance. This role combines the visibility and influence of a local leadership position with the resources and reach of a global company.

The Controller will oversee month-end closing, budgeting, cost accounting, help strengthen internal controls and partner with operations. Working closely with operations and corporate finance, this individual will provide insight into manufacturing costs, profitability, working capital, and capital investments while developing the accounting team and improving processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations and the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, ensuring accurate financial statements and timely reporting under U.S. GAAP and corporate requirements.
• Oversee standard costs, inventory valuation, overhead allocation, and physical inventory procedures. Analyze material, labor, and overhead variances to identify opportunities to improve margins.
• Responsible for developing and maintaining adequate and effective internal control system for all locations.
• Support decisions related to production efficiency, product profitability, pricing, capital expenditures, and working capital.
• Coordinate and manage year-end audit with outside audit firm.
• Lead and coach the accounting team, improve ERP and reporting capabilities, and streamline workflows as the business grows.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of accounting experience, including leadership responsibility in a manufacturing environment (required).
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA, CMA, or advanced degree preferred.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, manufacturing cost accounting, inventory, and financial reporting.
• Experience managing close activities, budgets, forecasts, and internal controls.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (Oracle required); along with advanced Excel skills
• Experience improving systems and reporting processes preferred.
