Controller

We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Controller to lead the accounting and financial operations for a thriving, privately-held international industrial equipment manufacturer and distributor.

This role offers a unique blend of core technical controllership and strategic FP&A. Managing a dedicated team of 5, you will oversee day-to-day accounting, international, costing, and financial planning. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in manufacturing, public accounting experience, and a proactive leadership style to support their global footprint.

Key Responsibilities:

Core Controllership & Financial Operations

• Team Leadership: Oversee, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team of 5 professionals.
• Month-End Close: Manage and accelerate the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Internal Controls: Review journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger activity.
• Treasury & Cash Management: Actively track, analyze, and manage international cash flow statements and working capital.
• Tax Compliance: Oversee sales and use tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
• Audit Ownership: Serve as the primary point of contact for external audits, bank audits, and financial reviews.

Manufacturing & Cost Accounting

• Cost Accounting: Oversee inventory valuation, standard costing, variance analysis, and operational cost controls.
• Global Operations: Support accounting workflows for international entities

FP&A & Strategic Support

• Budgeting & Forecasting: Drive the annual budgeting process and continuous financial forecasting updates.
• Financial Analysis: Partner with the CFO to deliver impactful financial reporting, variance analysis, and KPIs to support executive decision-making.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in public accounting and a proven track record within the manufacturing industry.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Certification: CPA designation is preferred.
• Skills: Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, inventory management, and multi-currency/international transactions.
• Soft Skills: Hands-on operational mindset with the ability to balance day-to-day details alongside high-level financial planning.
