About the Controller Opportunity:
Our client is seeking a skilled Interim Controller to provide accounting leadership and financial oversight during a transition period. This position will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting function, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, supporting month-end close activities, and maintaining strong internal controls while partnering with leadership to achieve business objectives.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting professional who can quickly assess processes, stabilize operations, and add value in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities for the Controller:
- Lead and oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash management.
- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
- Prepare and review financial statements and management reports.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
- Analyze financial results and provide insights to executive leadership.
- Oversee account reconciliations and resolve complex accounting issues.
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and financial performance metrics.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and other third-party partners.
- Evaluate and improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting procedures.
- Assist with ERP implementations, system upgrades, integrations, or other special projects.
- Mentor and support accounting staff as needed.
Qualifications for the Controller:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
- Experience managing month-end close and financial statement preparation
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Ability to quickly learn new environments and drive results
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
