Controller

We are partnering with an established, highly regarded consumer brand in Austin to identify a Controller to join its finance leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a company known for its strong culture, recognizable brand, and continued growth.The Controller will serve as a key accounting leader within the organization, overseeing core accounting operations while remaining actively involved in the details of the business. We are looking for someone who combines strong technical accounting expertise with a practical, hands-on leadership style — someone who is equally comfortable developing a team, improving processes, and rolling up their sleeves when needed. This individual should be naturally proactive, curious, and solutions-oriented, with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement rather than simply maintaining existing processes.Salary for role is $190k-$225k (based on level of experience) with bonus and full benefitsResponsibilities:Lead and oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processesEnsure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reportingMaintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable accounting standardsProvide leadership, coaching, and development to the accounting team while remaining actively engaged in the workPartner cross-functionally with finance, operations, supply chain, and other business leaders to understand business drivers and support decision-makingProactively identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, systems, and reportingOversee balance sheet reconciliations, inventory accounting, cost accounting, accruals, and other areas relevant to a consumer products/manufacturing environmentSupport annual audits and serve as a key point of contact with external auditorsHelp strengthen and scale the accounting function as the organization continues to evolveDevelop a strong understanding of the business beyond the financial statements and bring a thoughtful, commercial mindset to the Controller functionRequired Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldActive CPA strongly preferredBig 4 public accounting experience strongly preferredMeaningful industry experience following public accounting, ideally within CPG, retail, consumer products, manufacturing, or a similarly inventory-intensive environmentStrong technical accounting and GAAP knowledgeDemonstrated experience leading and developing accounting teamsExperience owning or playing a significant leadership role in the financial close and reporting processStrong understanding of internal controls, audit requirements, and accounting processesExperience with inventory and/or manufacturing accounting is highly desirableProven ability to operate in a hands-on environment and comfortably move between high-level leadership and detailed executionIf you meet the required qualifications and are interested in this role, please apply today.
