Brief Description: The Electric Department is seeking a Control Room Operator to perform responsible communications while responding to routine and emergency conditions on the Electric, Water, Wastewater, and Gas utility systems.
Control Room Operator I Anticipated Hiring Range: $42,411.20 - $58,219.20 (commensurate with skills and experience)
Minimum Requirements:
- Over one year of experience
- Proficient in oral communication
- Ability to multitask in daily job performance
- High school diploma/GED
- Valid Driver's License
Experience with SCADA, Geographic Information Systems, Customer Information Systems, Outage Management Systems, and Work Management Systems is preferred. Control Room Operator II Anticipated Hiring Range: $49,836.80 - $65,416.00 (commensurate with skills and experience)
Minimum Requirements:
- Over three years of experience
- Proficient in oral communication
- Six-months/one year of advanced study or training past the high school equivalency
- Valid Driver's License
Experience with SCADA, Geographic Information Systems, Customer Information Systems, Outage Management Systems, and Work Management Systems is preferred.
Job Responsibilities Include:
- Dispatching information to crews and departments on a daily basis over GUC's computer, telephone, and radio systems, along with operating computerized remote control system equipment is required.
- Communicating with internal and external customers.
- Reading and analyzing computerized data, gauges, meters, and charts.
- Generating service orders based on information received from various customers, GUC personnel, and departments.
- Notifying appropriate personnel regarding alarms on all associated systems.
- Monitoring and operating each department's Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition Systems.
- Maintaining various communications and operational logs.
- Assisting with restoration of facilities during storm situations as stated in the GUC Emergency Plan.

This position is for our 24/7-hour control center; after training, you will be scheduled for 12 ‑hour night shifts and required to work weekends and holidays.
