Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Control Engineer to provide onsite automation and control engineering support for manufacturing operations and capital projects.

The role will focus on PLC, HMI, SCADA, historian systems, industrial communication networks, automation architecture, commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, and control-system improvements. The engineer will work closely with process, electrical, and project engineering teams to support reliable, safe, and compliant automation systems.

Experience in FMCG, consumer products, food & beverage, or personal care manufacturing is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite automation and control engineering support for manufacturing operations and capital projects.
  • Develop and review control philosophies, functional design specifications, and automation architectures.
  • Support modifications and improvements to PLC, HMI, SCADA, and historian systems.
  • Review vendor automation packages and integration requirements.
  • Participate in FAT, SAT, commissioning, and startup activities.
  • Troubleshoot control-system issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Support industrial network architecture and communication protocols.
  • Develop and implement alarm management and control-system improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with process, electrical, and project engineering teams.
  • Support automation lifecycle activities and engineering documentation.
  • Ensure applicable cybersecurity, safety, and regulatory requirements are incorporated into automation systems.
  • Develop and review control narratives, I/O lists, and logic documentation.
  • Provide technical support during system modifications, commissioning, and production startup.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical, Control Systems Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 7–10 years of industrial automation and controls experience.
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens, or Schneider control platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of PLC, HMI, SCADA, and historian systems.
  • Experience with industrial communication networks and protocols.
  • Experience developing or reviewing control philosophies and functional design specifications.
  • Experience supporting FAT, SAT, commissioning, and startup activities.
  • Ability to read and develop control narratives, I/O lists, and logic documentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of ISA standards and automation lifecycle practices.
  • Ability to work onsite at client locations in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in FMCG, consumer products, food & beverage, or personal care manufacturing.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, chemical, or other process/manufacturing environments.
  • Experience supporting large-scale manufacturing and capital projects.
  • Experience with industrial cybersecurity.
  • Experience with alarm management and control-system optimization.
  • Experience working with major manufacturing organizations such as Unilever or similar companies.

Work Requirements

  • Position is 100% onsite in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
  • Ability to support manufacturing and capital projects in an onsite industrial environment.
  • Ability to participate in commissioning, startup, FAT, SAT, troubleshooting, and related project activities.
  • Ability to collaborate with process, electrical, project, and other engineering teams.
  • Ability to work in accordance with applicable safety, cybersecurity, engineering, and regulatory requirements.
