Our client is a global snack and beverage company. They seek a Control & Reporting Global Derivatives Director to join their Purchase, NY office.
Responsibilities
- Provide enterprise‑wide technical accounting guidance on complex financial instruments, ensuring alignment with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements
- Monitor emerging accounting guidance and regulatory developments; assess impacts and coordinate positions with external auditors and advisors
- Lead and develop a centralized center of excellence supporting accounting, reporting, and governance over financial risk management activities
- Drive automation, standardization, and process optimization initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of reporting processes
- Oversee preparation and review of financial statement disclosures related to financial instruments, financing arrangements, and risk management activities for quarterly and annual filings
- Establish and maintain strong internal controls over financial instruments, including documentation, testing, and remediation of control activities
- Provide accounting oversight and transaction support for complex financing activities, including new issuances, modifications, and restructurings
- Review and enhance executive and board‑level reporting materials related to treasury activities, market risk exposure, and financial instrument strategies
- Partner cross‑functionally with treasury, tax, legal, FP&A, and regional finance teams to ensure consistent application of accounting policies and risk management strategies
Requirements
- 10+ years of relevant experience
- Extensive ASC 815 (derivatives & hedging) experience
- Public accounting experience is preferred
