Salary: £42,000 - £52,000 DOE

Permanent | Full time | Flexible working

Hybrid / based in an office 3 days a week and be able to commute easily to Derby

Technical Partners are currently working with a leading engineering organisation operating within the UK nuclear sector, supporting the delivery of a range of technically challenging and high-profile projects.

We are looking to speak with experienced Control & Instrumentation Engineers who are looking for the opportunity to work across the full engineering lifecycle, from early concept and tendering through to detailed design, installation, commissioning and decommissioning.

The Role

As a Control & Instrumentation Engineer, you will provide technical expertise across a variety of projects and will be involved in areas including:

Developing and reviewing C&I engineering documentation, including specifications, design philosophies, instrument data sheets and loop diagrams.
nSupporting the development of control system architectures, including I/O allocation and communication networks.
nContributing to control room and HMI design activities.
nProducing and reviewing engineering drawings, technical reports and design documentation.
nSupporting safety-related activities including HAZOP, HAZAN, SIL assessments and FMEA.
nEnsuring designs comply with relevant engineering standards, legislation and project requirements.
nWorking closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, suppliers, contractors and other key stakeholders.
nProviding technical support throughout procurement, construction, installation and commissioning.
nWorking with clients and project stakeholders both remotely and on-site.
nManaging your own workload and delivering high-quality engineering outputs to agreed timescales.
nAbout You

We are keen to hear from Control & Instrumentation Engineers with a strong technical foundation and a genuine interest in working within the nuclear and highly regulated engineering sectors.

Ideally, you will have:

A degree or equivalent qualification in Control Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering or a related discipline.
nPrevious experience working within a C&I / instrumentation and control engineering environment.
nStrong engineering judgement and an understanding of relevant IEC and BS standards.
nExperience producing and reviewing technical drawings and engineering documentation.
nGood analytical and problem-solving skills.
nThe ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team.
nStrong written and verbal communication skills.
nExcellent attention to detail and organisation.
nA proactive approach to technical development and continuous learning.
nExperience within the nuclear, energy, process, defence or other highly regulated industries would be advantageous.
