Contract Specialist SupportProvide support to the SORDAC Acquisition Operations DivisionExecute the full range of contracting activitiesPrepare various contractual documents for approval by the Government Contracting OfficerParticipate in acquisition activities to include performing market research, recommending procurement strategies, and preparing procurement requests such as Requests for Information, Requests for Quotes, and Requests for ProposalsAssist in supporting proposal evaluation activities, reviewing contractor performance, and investigating reports of contract discrepanciesHelp ensure the maintenance of documentation of program costs and schedule adherenceAssess progress in assigned projects/programs including cost estimates, schedules, and performance supportability baseline requirements by applying known methods and proceduresHelp establish management controls such as milestones, expenditure rates, management indicators, and management reviews to reflect program status and provide early detection of emerging problemsReview programming documents and/or help assess the impact of external actions to determine their effect on the development, production, and logistical support and to ensure that programs are within baseline and budgetary limitationsAssist the government in providing feedback to customers and keep abreast of changing environments and potential shifts in emphasis or other program changesHelp coordinate program changes and engineering compromises to assess the resulting changes in other areas of the programPrepare and present staff studies for presentation to program leaders and other management officialsConduct presentations and demonstrations on program status, costs, adherence to baselines and schedulesAdvise Government program managers of significant actions or problems and seek resolution5 years of experience in Government ContractingMust possess a level of experience commensurate with Department of Defense GS- Must possess Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act Acquisition Level II Contracting CertificationExperience in USSOCOM acquisition policies and processes highly preferredMacDill AFB, Tampa, Florida2 Trips in CONUS per yearBA or BS Degree with 5 years' experience or no degree with 13 years' experienceDefense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act Acquisition Level II Contracting certification required.Active DOD Secret Clearance required
