Contract Attorney – Restructuring / Liability Management
Location: New York City; hybrid schedule.
Duration: 3 to 4 months
Candidate Pay: $135 to $175/hour for NYC candidates with 10 plus years of relevant experience.
Overview:
- Seeking a transactional attorney, ideally from a national law firm, to support the Capital Structure Advisory / Fixed Income team on complex restructuring, bankruptcy, liability management, and capital markets matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft and negotiate engagement letters, offering documents, tender documents, and transaction agreements.
- Advise on legal, regulatory, and reputational risks.
- Support Chapter 11 matters, including retention applications, plans, DIP orders, bidding procedures, and asset purchase agreements.
- Provide legal research, analysis, and support on securities, financing, and M&A matters.
Required Qualifications:
- J.D. and active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- Ideally 10 plus years of relevant legal experience.
- Strong restructuring, bankruptcy, and liability management background.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, communication, judgment, and prioritization skills.
