Our client, a well-established litigation firm, is seeking an experienced Contract Attorney to provide arbitration support for insurance defense and civil litigation matters. The attorney will assist with cases involving construction defects, property damage, first-party property disputes, and insurance coverage issues .
This opportunity is well suited for a Texas-licensed attorney with 2-5+ years of insurance defense and/or civil litigation experience who is comfortable handling arbitration preparation, legal research, case evaluation, and litigation support with a high degree of independence.

This opportunity is well suited for a Texas-licensed attorney with 2-5+ years of insurance defense and/or civil litigation experience who is comfortable handling arbitration preparation, legal research, case evaluation, and litigation support with a high degree of independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Support attorneys throughout all phases of arbitration proceedings involving insurance defense and civil litigation matters.
- Conduct legal research regarding liability, damages, coverage, and other case-specific issues.
- Draft and revise arbitration briefs, position statements, motions, discovery responses, and related legal documents.
- Review and analyze claim files, construction documents, expert reports, investigative materials, and other case records.
- Prepare exhibits, witness lists, exhibit lists, pre-hearing briefs, case summaries, timelines, and hearing notebooks.
- Assist with witness preparation, including developing outlines and anticipated questions and answers.
- Attend depositions and prepare detailed summaries and analyses.
- Evaluate settlement opportunities and contribute to case strategy discussions.
- Communicate professionally with insurance adjusters, opposing counsel, experts, arbitrators, and other case participants.
- Ensure compliance with applicable arbitration rules, deadlines, and case management orders, including AAA, JAMS, court-ordered arbitration, and private arbitration procedures.
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in Texas.
- 2-5+ years of experience in insurance defense, civil litigation, or a related practice area.
- Familiarity with arbitration procedures and evidence presentation.
- Strong legal research, writing, drafting, analytical, and case-evaluation skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize assignments, and meet critical deadlines.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- High level of professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook .
- Experience evaluating construction defect or first-party property claims .
- Experience working directly with insurance carriers or claims professionals.
- Background in one or more of the following:
- Construction defect
- First-party property
- Insurance coverage
- Subrogation
- Premises liability
- General negligence
- Prior experience participating in arbitration hearings or preparing cases for trial.
- Ability to analyze and synthesize complex factual and technical records into concise, persuasive legal arguments.
