About the Role:

We are seeking a contract Addiction Therapist to provide on-site coverage during planned and unplanned staff absences such as PTO or sick time.

This role is ideal for a clinician who enjoys group facilitation, values consistency for clients, and is comfortable stepping in to support existing programming when needed. Coverage needs are intermittent and communicated in advance whenever possible.


What You Will Do

  • Facilitate Groups: Lead established IOP and PHP group sessions in alignment with Hazelbrook’s curriculum and clinical standards
  • Ensure Continuity: Provide reliable coverage during staff PTO, sick time, or short-term coverage gaps
  • Collaborate with Team: Coordinate with clinical leadership and peer staff to support smooth transitions and client care
  • Maintain Clinical Standards: Deliver ethical, client-centered group therapy within Hazelbrook’s treatment framework

Must Have:

  • Credentials: Valid Colorado practice license on DORA (ADDC, LPCC, LSW, LCSW, LMFT, LPC, LAC).
  • Skills: Strong communication, dependability, tech-savvy, flexibility, team player.
  • Recovery Status: For candidates in recovery, a minimum of 3 years of abstinence is required.
  • Clinical Excellence: Skilled in assessment, treatment planning, and goal re-evaluation across various care levels.
  • Tools: Laptop and ability to work remotely


Nice to Have:

  • Experience: Prior work with substance use disorder clients, IOP preferred.
  • Education: Masters in a behavioral health field.
  • Expertise: Deep understanding of psychotherapy and treatment modalities for substance abuse.


Location + Hours:

  • Work Setting: On-site at Hazelbrook’s Aurora, CO clinical center
  • Schedule: As-needed coverage for planned and unplanned staff absences, including PTO and sick time. Sessions are scheduled in 3-hour blocks
  • Time Commitment: Variable and intermittent, based on coverage needs, with the possibility of more consistent hours as availability and program needs align
  • Job Type: Independent Contractor (1099)


Compensation: ~$60/hr Contract fee for service

  • $180 per (3) hour IOP group sessions (on-site)
  • $180 per (3) hour PHP group sessions (on-site)
