Content Marketing SpecialistWe are seeking a full-time Content Marketing Specialist at Garmin's U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will be responsible for operating independently to contribute to the Garmin.com blog by generating original ideas and completing stories to help readers understand Garmin products, features, and marketing stories in alignment with Garmin business objectives.Essential Functions:Develop original/creative concepts for blog posts designed to attract new/existing Garmin customersIndependently oversee a story idea from conception to publication, including initial research, producing creative copy, and guiding it through the editing/approval process to build for publication while collaborating with other departments to ensure promotion/maximum readershipUtilize thorough understanding of Garmin's business segments and marketing objectives to determine without management direction which topics are chosen for coverage to attract readershipAnalyze/develop a plan to optimize content for maximum performance on search engines like GoogleAct as a Garmin "reporter" conducting interviews with both internal/external parties, following through on "leads," and developing stories that adhere to Associate Press (AP) styleManage library of content currently existing on Garmin.com blog to ensure accuracy, timeliness, relevance, and updated marketing objectives and exercise independent judgment to analyze and assess content, develop a plan of action, and then edit/remove content as appropriateCollaborate with other departments to recommend, develop, and execute integrated content campaigns inclusive of blog, PR, social and eblast as assignedIndependently manage multiple time sensitive projects simultaneously, using discretion to establish priorities and triage urgent mattersComplete other Garmin.com duties as assigned by the Content Marketing ManagerBasic Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Journalism, or related fieldMust possess a minimum of 2 years of demonstrated professional experience as a journalist, communications strategist, marketing specialist, writer, or content curatorMust be detail-oriented and have the ability to work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision with proven ability to work under deadlinesDemonstrated aptitude and experience writing and editing both long and short form contentDemonstrated understanding of content marketing strategy and implementationExperience optimizing content, taking Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Google Analytics into considerationStrong passion for Garmin business and productsProficiency in Microsoft Office, Sprinklr, WordPress or other content management softwareUnderstanding of web publishing requirementsMust possess demonstrated editorial mindset with an ability to predict audience preferencesMust possess excellent communication and writing skills in the English languagePortfolio must demonstrate creativity and a proven ability to write for traditional media outlets and digital mediumsMust be comfortable discussing and developing big-picture content strategy and able to digest complex information, transforming it into easy-to-understand articles or long-form content for readersDesired Qualifications:Owner of previous published writing samplesGarmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
