Contract- 6 MonthsClient- Southern Company Services.Position OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Content Developer II – IT with strong expertise in Power BI dashboard development, data modeling, and reporting solutions.This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining interactive dashboards and reports that support business decision-making. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience building Power BI solutions from scratch and can translate business requirements into optimized, user-friendly reporting tools.Key ResponsibilitiesDashboard & Report DevelopmentDesign, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards using Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.Build reports from scratch aligned with business requirements.Optimize reports for performance, scalability, and usability.Data Modeling & Query DevelopmentDevelop robust data models using best practices: Star schema, Normalization.Write and maintain advanced: DAX (Data Analysis Expressions), M (Power Query Formula Language).Integrate data from multiple sources including: Excel, SharePoint, Cloud platforms.Security & GovernanceImplement Row-Level Security (RLS).Manage workspace permissions and access controls.Ensure compliance with reporting standards and governance practices.Troubleshooting & MaintenanceTroubleshoot report performance issues.Resolve data refresh failures and connectivity issues.Maintain documentation of: Data models, Report logic, Development processes.Stakeholder CollaborationGather and analyze business requirements.Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver reporting solutions.Communicate technical insights in business-friendly language.Required QualificationsProven experience with: Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, Power Query.Strong proficiency in: DAX, M language.Experience developing dashboards and reports independently.Strong understanding of data modeling concepts.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Strong communication and collaboration skills.High attention to detail and adherence to reporting standards.Technical Skills SummaryPower BI (Desktop & Service)DAXPower Query (M)Data Modeling (Star Schema)Row-Level Security (RLS)Excel / SharePoint IntegrationData Refresh & Troubleshooting
