Container Platform Infrastructure EngineerThe Container Platform Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining container orchestration infrastructure for mission-critical naval combat systems. This role requires a foundational understanding of containerization technologies, Linux operating systems, automation scripting, and modern DevOps practices. The engineer will serve as a technical point of contact, supporting the transition of legacy systems to cloud-native architectures through container-based deployments.

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated learner with strong willingness to embrace new technologies, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced development environment with aggressive timelines.Responsibilities:Develop and maintain container orchestration infrastructure using Kubernetes and related technologiesDesign and implement Platform as a Service (PaaS) solutions to support containerized application deploymentsDevelop and maintain automation scripts using Ansible, YAML, Bash, and Python for system configuration and deploymentSupport the integration of containerized combat system components into the infrastructure platformParticipate in technical meetings and provide technical expertise to development teamsCreate and maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure processes, procedures, and architecturesTroubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and provide technical solutionsSupport rapid iteration and deployment cycles in an agile environmentCollaborate with systems engineering and development teams to implement technical requirementsInstall, configure, and maintain Linux-based systems (primarily RHEL) in both development and operational environmentsSupport the transition from traditional deployment models to microservices-based architecturesEnsure infrastructure solutions meet security requirements for classified system deploymentsQualifications:Required:Bachelor's degree in computer science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related technical disciplineAbility to obtain a SECRET security clearance (must be U.S. citizen)Ability and willingness to routinely work in a CUI development environment onsite at the laboratoryWorking knowledge of Linux operating systems (RHEL preferred)Working knowledge of scripting languages such as Bash, Python, and AnsibleFamiliarity with YAML configuration and declarative infrastructure practicesStrong willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving requirementsExcellent documentation and communication skillsDemonstrated ability to work independently and take ownership of technical responsibilitiesBasic understanding of system of systems concepts and complex system architecturesAbility to participate effectively in technical meetings and communicate technical concepts clearlyDesired:Experience with container technologies such as Podman, Docker, or KubernetesKnowledge of Kubernetes architecture, deployment patterns, and orchestration conceptsExperience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and GitOps practicesFamiliarity with cloud-native architecture principles and 12-factor application methodologyExperience with DevSecOps practices and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelinesKnowledge of naval combat system functionality and integrationProgramming or software development experienceExperience with microservices architecture and design patternsActive SECRET level clearanceCertifications in Kubernetes (CKA, CKAD) or container platformsWhat You Can Expect:A culture of integrity.At CACI, we place character and innovation at the center of everything we do.
