We are partnered with a global leading multi‑strategy hedge fund seeking a high‑calibre US‑focused Consumer Equity Research Analyst to join an established long/short pod in New York. This is an exceptional opportunity to work directly under a brand‑name Portfolio Manager with a strong, long‑term track record.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will cover US Consumer Hardlines, Softlines, and Gaming , driving differentiated, fundamentals‑driven insights to support idea generation and portfolio construction. This is a high‑impact role within a well‑resourced platform offering meaningful exposure, autonomy, and PnL‑linked upside.

Key Responsibilities:

• Primary research coverage across US Hardlines, Softlines, and Gaming sectors
• Build and maintain detailed financial models, industry frameworks, and thematic deep dives
• Generate differentiated long and short investment ideas with clear catalysts and edge.
• Conduct channel checks, management calls, expert work, and competitive analysis
• Partner closely with the PM in thesis development, risk assessment, and ongoing monitoring of positions
• Present actionable investment recommendations supported by rigorous analysis

Candidate Requirements:

• 2+ years of buyside equity investment experience (mandatory)
• Strong preference for candidates with long/short hedge fund experience
• Deep understanding of the US consumer universe , ideally with direct sector exposure
• Proven ability to produce high‑conviction, well‑structured investment work
• Strong modelling, analytical, and communication skills
• Highly driven, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced pod environment
