Overview
Consumer Credit Review Senior Manager role at Capital One. The Senior Manager is responsible for executing independent, risk-based assurance reviews within Capital One’s Consumer credit portfolios (card and auto). This includes assessment of credit strategies and practices, effectiveness of policy implementation and risk governance. The Senior Manager contributes to the annual Credit Review operating plan by leading reviews of credit processes or products, monitoring credit trends and changes in the assigned portfolios and in horizontal reviews. The role involves exposure to full spectrum lending activities (acquisition, customer management, etc) across first- and second-line risk management, providing effective challenge to Accountable Executives and building relationships with line of business management and risk management stakeholders.
General Responsibilities
- Conduct risk-based reviews covering consumer lines of business
- Identify credit process weaknesses
- Identify emerging trends and issues
- Perform independent data analysis to support or identify gaps in credit policies
- Track identified issues through to resolution
- Communicate Credit Review assurance results clearly, verbally and in writing
- Report results and issues to executive management and risk senior executives
- Collaborate with regulators and external auditors to ensure Credit Review processes are sound
- Build and maintain high-trust relationships with credit risk executives and regulators
- Act as an approachable advisor to business partners, establishing continuous and effective communication channels
- Provide leadership and partnering to drive critical decisions and deliverable results
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or military experience
- At least 7 years of professional business and data analysis experience
- At least 3 years of experience in consumer lending (credit card and auto loans) credit risk policy, analytics or strategy development
- At least 3 years of experience influencing senior level executives or regulators
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree
- Consumer credit training from a large national or regional bank or equivalent training in a regulatory office (OCC, Federal Reserve)
- Credit risk modeling, audit or assurance experience

Compensation and Location
The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Salaries are for candidates hired to work within the listed locations and may be reflected in the offer letter. Part-time roles will be prorated based on hours worked.
- Chicago, IL: $175,500 - $200,300 for Sr. Credit Review Manager
- McLean, VA: $193,000 - $220,300 for Sr. Credit Review Manager
- New York, NY: $210,500 - $240,300 for Sr. Credit Review Manager
- Plano, TX: $175,500 - $200,300 for Sr. Credit Review Manager
- Richmond, VA: $175,500 - $200,300 for Sr. Credit Review Manager
- Wilmington, DE: $175,500 - $200,300 for Sr. Credit Review Manager
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range for that location. The actual offer will be stated in the offer letter. This role is eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives.
